The classic and spacious safari lodges of Ant’s Nest, Ant’s Hill, and Bushwillow Camp in South Africa are owner designed and built. Using local stone and thatch, they blend into the surroundings beautifully, setting the scene to give guests the most memorable bushveld views. The reserve is set in the wild and unspoiled Waterberg region in the Limpopo province of South Africa, a mere 3 hours north of Johannesburg. Ant Africa Safaris lodges offer some of the most diverse and exciting game viewing on horseback in Africa.
OUR SAFARI LODGES
welcome home
ANT'S HILL
Built on the edge of a cliff, Ant’s Hill offers breath-taking views across the Waterberg. The lodge boasts spacious rooms with vast folding doors and beautiful ensuite bathrooms, while the separate cottages are uniquely designed and offer sunken baths and waterfall showers in a more private setting.
ANT'S NEST
Where it all began. Lying in a natural amphitheatre with its wide verandahs, the original homestead has a classically relaxed African atmosphere. Surrounded by open plains where horses, rhino and other game frequently graze in extremely close proximity, don’t be surprised to have a white rhino grazing 10 metres from your pool lounger.
BUSHWILLOW CAMP
Bushwillow consists of 1100 hectares of open spaces along with the camp itself. Bushwillow camp has an open and friendly atmosphere. Built along an open landscape it provides rewarding views across an open plain.
ANT'S RIVER LODGE
Ant’s River Lodge is part of the Kaingo Private Game Reserve, located just one hour from Ant Africa Safaris. Spanning 16,400 hectares of bushveld savannah, valleys, and striking mountain scenery – enhanced by the winding Mokolo River – this reserve hosts more than 50 mammal species and over 250 bird species.
FOOD + WINE
Dining at Ant Africa Safaris safari lodges is always a memorable (and delicious) experience. The fare is a fusion of scrumptious home cooking and fine dining, carefully prepared by our chefs using the best fresh produce available. One of Ant’s highlights is the incredible variety of dining areas on offer. You may find lunch laid out in the bush, dinner around a fire in the boma or next to the pool, and breakfast on the deck or under a tree in the garden.
We pride ourselves in ensuring each meal is in a different location, weather-dependent of course. Guests can eat together in a relaxed atmosphere; alternatively, should you be on a romantic getaway or family safari you are welcome to have private dinners. The chefs cater for all dietary requirements (from coeliacs to vegans), should you require this. And of course, we also serve a selection of excellent South African wines.
